Invited to Greater St. John’s Church

Greater St. John's Church

On April 19, 2014 Leslie’s Place was invited to Greater St. John’s Church, 310 S. Kostner Blvd., Chicago, by the mission Board headed by Vernetta. It was a very spirit filled event. Rev. Ethel Johnson spoke on “A Viturous Woman”. It was very powerful!  The members of the church made us feel very special. On Friday the 18th they brought dinner for everyone. We were blessed with rib tips, fried fish, baked chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, dinner rolls, and cake. On Saturday immediate after the speaker we were served a very delicious meal. Upon leaving gifts bags were given. What a beautiful outgoing!!!

Thank you Pastor LeSure and the Mission Board.

Responses from the Women of Leslie's Place:

For the luncheon we attended on Saturday the 19th the message of the virtuous woman reached me at the level of recognizing I still have so much to strive and reach for. There are places I fall short; the words spoken allowed me to know where I need to improve. That in some ways I cover what a virtous woman is, even though I am not quite there yet. I saw joy, friendship, laughter, and love. That we can all be that person to move forward and over come any obstacles to be a better person. That one must never stop striving and become a pillar in the community and to never forget where you came from to strive to overcome it grow from it and show those gifts of virtuous no matter where you are in life.

Greater St. John Church Program -
Proverbs: 31:9-19

What I got out of it!

A Virtuous Woman -- One who takes on a multitude of tasks who accomplishes them all on and mannerable time, along with providing for others and her siblings. Extended her hand with love and encouraging others to live a righteous life in the name of Jesus. But most of all honor God in all aspects of your life. The servants God used from Greater St. John Church were a big inspiration being used by the Lord to bless others and lift them up and I truly received a blessing from them all.  God Bless!!
